Pediatric and Prenatal Chiropractic Care
Dr. Ellis has been working with infants and children and adults for the past 15 years.
Some of the most common conditions of infancy are reflux, colic, constipation and torticollis. All are related to subluxation of the skull and upper cervical vertebrae, most commonly related to the birth process. Other conditions of childhood that respond well to Chiropractic care are chronic ear infections, headaches, sports injuries, scoliosis, bed-wetting, ADHD. Dr. Ellis uses Webster Technique used primarily in the pregnant patient. The patients presenting for treatment using this technique are typically in their 34-37th week of pregnancy and their baby is in the breech position. However, being under care throughout the pregnancy often avoids the issue of a breech presentation entirely. The treatment is gentle and non-invasive. Chiropractic care is safe during the entire pre-natal period from conception to delivery. |
"The primary mechanisms of injury to the spinal cord appear to be excessive traction applied to the spinal canal and cord during the birth process." |
